At the end of the registration period and after a difficult and competitive deliberation, the members of the CENTUM Talent Challenge jury, have chosen Guillermo Asensio López as the winner, among more than 50 candidates registered in this first edition. Guillermo is 23 years old and studies Aerospace Engineering at Carlos III University in Madrid. “Although the decision has not been easy, the jury selected Guillermo because his proposal was technically feasible, easy to prototype and clear”, explains Héctor Coloma, CENTUM’s Innovation Manager.
Convinced that to develop innovative projects it is necessary to attract, recruit and develop the best talent, CENTUM has launched the CENTUM Talent Challenge, an ideas competition aimed at seniors and engineering master´s degree students of the Carlos III University of Madrid. The candidates have joined the challenge, presenting a video where they expose a technical solution to develop a device capable of determining the position of a drone in flight. As an award, Guillermo has won a three-month paid scholarship at CENTUM to develop the proposal and the new iPad. In addition, he will have at his disposal a dedicated budget for the procurement of necessary materials and equipment and the advice of CENTUM engineers as technical tutors.
“Everything indicates that this is the first of many future editions. CENTUM Talent Challenge has been very well received and we will continue to launch technological challenges that allows us to advance in the acquisition of talent and our commitment to innovation”, assures Héctor Coloma, CENTUM’s Innovation Manager. CENTUM is grateful for the support and collaboration of the Carlos III University Foundation, which has been fundamental for the launch of this initiative.
